Rushbeds Woods Hits a Purple Patch |
| A party from Holmer Green reported amazing
numbers of Purple Hairstreaks in Rushbeds Wood today. "The canopy was all
aflutter" reported Mick. "We counted a conservative 43 individuals" claimed Wendy (a small c she insists!) Mick was observed leaving the woods at 6.15 seeking medical attention for his neck with his head seemingly locked in the 80 degrees from horizontal position. "If they are still out in these numbers next week I'll be in serious trouble!" insisted Mick. "Down my way I'm more used to working at ground level counting Meadow Browns in their thousands." (Is he referring to Penn Wood?) |
