I would like to report my Iris parasite observation again: I have thirteen Iris pupae this season, and the 1st two hatched today and parasitic flies emerged (Pyrimidalis). I took them immediately (still alive) by arrangement to the Basel Natural History Museum, where they will be photographed and put in their collection !

I want to ask members again if they know (or have read) anything about parasitism in Iris: it is clearly a not very well known phenomenum, but I have experienced it every year since 1992, but never in the ten years breeding activities before that !

I would like to hear any theory as to why it started suddenly with my breeding activities in 1992: global warming ???

regards
Dennis
