Species Champions - the Aims

Species Champions is all about improving our knowledge of the chosen species which, in turn, may be used to guide conservation programmes to benefit the species.

Single-species habitat conservation plans would be unusual, but a sound understanding of the requirements of a particular species can be invaluable when producing a site or habitat land management plan. Such a plan can then provide for the needs of a whole range of taxa - mammals, birds and invertebrates.
