Marsh Fritillary Seen East of Bicester.

We have received a 'reliable' report of a sighting of a single Marsh Fritillary at a greenfield site near Bicester. We need further information to ascertain if there is a colony in the area that is unknown to us. This butterfly is very easily bred in captivity and is sometimes released into the wild as a result. However we cannot assume that this is the case for this sighting.

Butterfly Conservation members will continue to monitor the area in the coming days. We will welcome any further information from whatever source and will update this page accordingly.
